Preliminary studies for WELCOME

The first sensor and vest prototypes were delivered to clinical partners at Christian-Albrechts-Universität (CAU), Kiel, where a validation study of the sensor vest on 50 healthy subjects is going to take place. A team of clinicians from CAU and engineers from Kristronics and the Centre Suisse d’Electronique et de Microtechnique (CSEM) installed the sensor system (consisting of 21 sensors) for the first time outside the development lab. Clinicians have positively acknowledged the first results, in particular the novel EIT functionality and the winning look of the vest. While the system worked as expected, the involved partners are giving a final polish to their system components until the beginning of the validation study at CAU.
